High Security Fire Doors

Features

Rivers Fire Rated Security Doors feature double or single interlocking steel pan sheets (minimum 1.6mm thick) that encapsulates a fire rated core.  From a security perspective the steel sheeted door provides greater protection than traditional timber veneered fire doors.  The interlocking steel pans ensure that door edges cannot be jemmied open.  A Rivers “wrap around” pressed metal door frame with bolt fixing through the fire wall ensures a solid base for the door unit.  Anti-lift off pins ensures that the door remains attached to the frame even if hinges are removed by would be vandals.  For enhanced security Rivers Fire Rated Security Doors should be fitted with Rivers MDSL locks.  Fire doors can be provided in a range of sizes to suit most applications and can be retrofitted to replace existing door sets. The Rivers Fire Rated Security Door Units comply with Australian Standard AS 1905 Part 1 and fire resistance levels (FRL) up to -/240/30 (four hours) can be provided.

Applications

A Rivers Fire Rated Security Door Unit is suitable to use in any application where the Building Code of Australia dictates a fire rated door must be used and where circumstances require superior security for the protection of life and property.  Rivers Fire Rated Security Door Units incorporating Rivers MDSL Locks are particularly suited for building perimeter, fire exit and stair well fire doors.

Hardware

Standard hardware supplied with a Rivers Fire Rated Door Unit includes heavy duty ball-bearing hinges, anti-lift off pins & door closer.  A Rivers Fire Rated Door Unit fitted with a Rivers MDSL Lock provides superior security while complying with Australian Standard AS 1905 Part 1.  Refer to Rivers MDSL Lock brochure in relation to fire testing and approvals.

Finishes

Standard finish is a grey zinc rich primer leaving the door & frame in a ready to paint condition. Rivers MDSL Lock comes standard in Dulux Hammertone Black finish.

Installation

Rivers Fire Rated Security Door Units must be installed to the requirements of Australian Standard AS 1905 Part 1.  Refer to AS 1905 Part 1in relation to installation requirements, tagging and certification of fire resistant doorsets.  Rivers Fire Rated Security Door Units can be built into new walls under construction or can be retrofitted into existing fire walls. If a MDSL Lock is specified with the Fire Rated Security Door Unit, it will be factory fitted to the door blade making site installation quicker and easier.
