Model D Two Point Locks –
Series 1, 2, 3 & 6

Features

The Rivers Model ‘D’ Lock is a high security multi-point locking device that can be mounted vertically or horizontally to any solid core door. The Model ‘D’ lock comes in 6 configurations (Series 1 to 6).  Refer to Model ‘D’ self-latching locks page for details on Series 4 & 5 locks.

All configurations utilise two 32mm x 10mm zinc plated locking bars, that throw 45mm to each locking point (90mm total extension). The standard Model ‘D’ lock body is adjustable to suit door widths from 760mm up to 960mm.  For door widths from 961 to 1220mm our “long body” must be specified. Locks to suit door widths under 760 mm or over 1220mm wide, or locks required for vertical mounting are made to order.

All Rivers Model ‘D’ lock configurations (with the exception of Series 3) are fitted with an internal lever handle that rotates downward through ninety degrees to disengage the locking bars. As a result of this feature the lock complies with the Building Code of Australia for use in emergency egress applications.  External access models are supplied with a 201 cylinder and they can be master keyed by locksmiths.  Other options include internal cylinder, a self-latching function and a hold open function.

Rivers Model D Locks have been assessed to comply with Schools Facilities Standards – Section SS455 Door Hardware.  Rivers Model D Locks achieved a Scale 7 rating under Australian Standard AS4145.2 testing.

Applications

Rivers two point locks are recommended for use in financial institutions, schools, government buildings, communication huts, shopping centers, council amenities buildings, cash rooms, computer rooms, warehouses, record storage rooms, retail outlets, rear entry doors and fire exists.  In fact, the Rivers Model ‘D’ lock is ideal for any application where security is the utmost priority.

For best security and protection Rivers locks should be used in conjunction with Rivers high security door units (comprising a Rivers door and door frame assembly).

Hardware

Hardware, where applicable, includes brass chrome plated lever handle(s), hardened steel nut plates, locking bar keepers, a 201 cylinder and hardened steel cylinder shield with anti-drill disk.

Finishes

The standard Model ‘D’ lock body is powder coated Dulux ‘Hammertone Black’, with the exception of the Model ‘D’ Series 6 lock which is powder coated Dulux ‘Anodic Silver’. Special colours are available upon request.

Installation

Rivers Model ‘D’ locking bars are surface mounted to the inside of solid core doors. For an open out door the lock is fixed using nut plates & threaded rod and the locking bars extend through slots cut into the door jamb. Open in doors utilise coach bolts to secure the lock to the door leaf. Nut plates & threaded rod are used to retain the locking bar keepers to the inside face of the door frame.  Rivers can provide experienced installers to correctly fit Model ‘D’ two point locks ensuring security and reliable service.  Locks can be fitted by trained locksmiths.  Refer to fitting instructions provided with the lock.
